welcome...
Welcome to the Sixth Form section of our website. The information contained over the following pages will provide you with all you need to know about our 16-19 opportunities at Chase High.
Our aim is provide you with a fulfilling and worthwhile educational experience to help you to achieve your goals. Whether you are looking to enter the workplace or to progress onto Higher Education, we hope you will find the right course for you.
A vast number of students continue their studies from Year 11 into our Sixth Form but we also encourage external entrants to take a look at our excellent facilities for themselves. We are continuing to grow each year and have around 100 students following a variety of vocational courses. Offering practical work-based learning programmes, we are characterised by strong sporting traditions, high standards, an encouraging and supportive atmosphere and an enjoyable learning environment.
Our Sixth Form offers a wide variety of courses, numerous opportunities for extra-curricular involvement as well as leadership and personal development. We currently offer over 40 courses to students. As we continue to expand, we will be adding to these.
One of the key features of our Sixth Form is offering students paid employment alongside their studies. By building the curriculum around these opportunities, we aim to reduce the need for our students to find evening and weekend work to support their education. This remains the only employment programme of its kind in the area.
Our recent Ofsted inspection claimed that the Sixth Form has a good curriculum that meets the needs of all students. It emphasised that there are “good opportunities for enrichment through organised sport, educational visits and visiting speakers” It also claimed that students “ enjoy being in the sixth form. They speak highly of the individual care, guidance and support they receive from their teachers and tutors.”
It's an exciting time to be at Chase High as we shape the Sixth Form for the future. Students will be able to have an influence on this development and we can offer them a great deal in return. The school has approved planning permission for a new state of art Sixth Form Centre, details of which can be found in “Our Development” section. (Possible link to this page)
